Dr. Quentin F. Gronau

I am a Lecturer in the School of Psychological Sciences and part of the Newcastle Cognition Lab at the University of Newcastle. I completed my PhD at the Psychological Methods department of the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) with Prof. Eric-Jan Wagenmakers where I was part of the JASP team. Subsequently, I did a postdoc with Prof. Andrew Heathcote (University of Amsterdam), Dr. Dora Matzke (University of Amsterdam), and Dr. Mark Hinder (University of Tasmania) before moving to the University of Newcastle. At the University of Newcastle, I did a postdoc with Prof. Scott Brown, Prof. Ami Eidels, and Dr. Guy Hawkins before transitioning to my Lecturer role. My research interests are mathematical psychology, where computational cognitive models are used to study behaviour and cognition, the theoretical development and practical implementation of Bayesian analyses, with a particular focus on Bayesian model comparison and computational methods for estimating Bayes factors, and open science. My current research focuses, among other topics, on the development of shared mental models for improving the performance of human-bot cybersecurity teams.
